Our Story: A Home Away From Home

For more than five decades, the Northeastern Senior Center has been enriching the lives of older adults throughout northern York County. What began in the basement of Otterbein Church in Mt. Wolf has grown into a welcoming community where older adults find friendship, purpose, support, and opportunities to remain active and independent.

Today, hundreds of older adults benefit from engaging programs, nutritious congregate meals, health and wellness activities, and our Home Delivered Meals program, provided in partnership with the York County Area Agency on Aging (YCAAA). With the help of more than 100 dedicated volunteers, we extend our reach across a 125-square-mile service area, ensuring homebound older adults receive not only nutritious meals, but also caring visits, wellness checks, and meaningful human connection.

Our Mission in Action

Every day, we bring our mission to life by enhancing, enriching, enlightening, and nourishing the lives of older adults. Whether someone joins us for lunch with friends, participates in an exercise class, volunteers their time, attends an educational program, or receives a meal at home, each interaction is an opportunity to reduce isolation, encourage independence, and strengthen our community.

The Northeastern Senior Center is more than a place to gather—it's a community built on neighbors helping neighbors. Many of our volunteers are also members who generously give back by sharing their time, talents, and compassion.
