Every day in York County, substance use impacts individuals, families, and entire communities. Behind every statistic is a person, someone’s child, parent, friend, or neighbor, and a moment where intervention could change the outcome.
The York Opioid Collaborative exists to make sure those moments don’t get missed.
At the York Opioid Collaborative, we believe that no single organization can solve the challenges of substance use alone. Real change requires coordination, shared goals, and a unified commitment to the health of our community. That is why we serve as the backbone organization for the Collective Response Initiative York (CRIY), a county‑wide effort that brings partners together around a common agenda to reduce overdoses, expand prevention, and support recovery. We bring together healthcare providers, public health leaders, first responders, treatment organizations, and community partners to create a coordinated, countywide response to substance use. Instead of working in silos, we align efforts, share data, and focus on what actually works to prevent overdose and support recovery.
This work has never been more important.
Our 2026–2028 Strategic Plan is focused on four priorities: reducing stigma, strengthening partnerships, clarifying our role as the backbone organization for this work, and building the infrastructure needed to sustain and grow impact. These aren’t just organizational goals; they are the foundation for how we create real change in York County.
Stigma remains one of the biggest barriers to care. It keeps people from seeking help, isolates families, and limits how communities respond. That’s why we are investing in education, elevating lived experience, and building trust in communities most affected by substance use.
At the same time, we are strengthening collaboration across sectors. No single organization can solve this alone. The York Opioid Collaborative exists to connect the dots, identify gaps, and support partners in delivering prevention, treatment, and recovery services more effectively.
Your support makes this possible.
Donations help expand access to medication locked bags, fund community education and outreach, and support the coordination and data-driven strategies that allow this work to scale. They also help us remain responsive as the drug supply evolves and new challenges emerge.
This work is deeply personal to me.
Like many families, mine has been impacted by substance use. That experience shaped my commitment to this work and continues to drive me as Vice Chair of the Board. I’ve seen firsthand the difference that access, compassion, and coordination can make, and I’ve also seen what happens when those things are missing.
We have an opportunity to do better, together.
Join me in supporting the York Opioid Collaborative through Give Local York. Your contribution is not just a donation, it’s an investment in a stronger, more connected system of care.
Every dollar supports prevention.
Every dollar expands access.
Every dollar helps save lives.
Together, we can change the story in York County.
