For years, we dedicated ourselves to saving lives, working tirelessly from individual homes while dreaming of the day we'd have a place to truly call home.  In 2018, that dream became a reality -- we moved onto a 12 acre property, and over the past years, we've poured our hearts into making it a true home.  Today, 10 acres are securely fenced, giving our fur buddies the freedom to play without fear, even alongside a few adventurous cats who enjoy romping with the dogs in the fields.

One of our proudest additions is the Meow Wow House, complete with a catio that provides lucky feline residents a safe and enriching enviornment to call their own.  This year, our goal is to double the size of the catio, ensuring even more space for our cats to enjoy fresh air and sunshine.  We have a quote from Security Fencing who originally built the catio, and we're eager to bring this expansion to life.

In addition to the catio project we're working hard to raise funds to fence in the acreage beyond our creek transforming it into a training and agility center.  This dedicated space will allow us to work one-on-one with dogs who need specialized training, facilitate meet-and-greet sessions for potential adopter and give high-energy dogs a chance to run agility courses designed to help them burn off energy in a productive way.  After all, a tired do at the end of the day is a happy dog!

The number of lives touched at 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is beyond measure.  We focus on senior and medically needy dogs, many of whom will spend the rest of their days enjoying the peace and love of the ranch.  Adoptable dogs are placed in foster homes whenever they are available and we are ALWAYS in need of more foster families and volunteers.  The calls for help never stop -- whether it's animals left behind due to owners moving into senior care facilities, housing restrictions, or even pets losing their owners entirely.  This year alone we have rescued over 30 dogs from scheduled euthanasia in shelters. The need is overwhelming, but as long as we have the strength to make a difference, we will continue answering the call.

Despite the hardships many of our fur buddies have faced, they never dwell on the past.  They choose to embrace the future, trusting and loving without hesitation -- something we humans could learn from them.

Thank you for caring.  Rising veterinary costs continue to challenge us, with spay procedures exceeding $700 and dental care often topping $1000 ___ numbers that are unsustainable for rescue organizations.  Our dream is to find a veterinarian who recognizes the importance of rescue work, someone passionate about giving failed animals the second chance they deserve.

Wouldn't it be incrdible if every animal, no matter their past, got the opportunity to live their best life?  We believe they should -- and we will never stop fighting to make it happen.

Mission

We are a foster network working to save our fur buddies. 2 years ago we were blessed to find a brick & mortar building to call home. Our healthy, adoptable dogs are mostly in foster homes living life with families, sleeping in beds, eating good food and getting the love they so badly needed.

The ranch is the base for medically needy fur babies and seniors. These fur buddies will spend their lives with us, most of them. Being loved and cared for and knowing what it is like to have a place to really call HOME.

We look forward to a surgery center, therapy room & therapy pool coming to the ranch some day.

Life is what we make it and here at 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue we choose to make it FANTASTIC!!!
