Hanover Area Council of Churches

The Hanover Area Council of Churches (HACC) is a united, faith-based organization dedicated to meeting critical needs in our community. Through a coalition of local churches, volunteers, and community partners, HACC provides a wide range of services that uplift individuals and families facing poverty, hunger, and homelessness.

Among our core programs are:

• Changing Lives Shelter – Offering emergency housing and support services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

• Provide-A-Lunch (PAL) – Serving daily hot meals to those in need.

• Clothing Bank – Offering free, seasonally appropriate clothing and essentials.

• Meals on Wheels – Connecting elderly, homebound, individuals with daily, hot meals

• Ruth's Harvest – Providing weekend backpacks filled with food for children in the local school district.

Right now, our greatest challenge is the growing homelessness crisis in the Hanover area. Our Changing Lives Shelter is working at a smaller capacity, and the demand for safe, temporary housing and supportive services continues to rise.

To respond to this urgent need, we are seeking to raise $10,000 to:

• Hire Additional Shelter Staff – Ensuring 24/7 care, safety, and stability for residents, while reducing strain on our dedicated team.

• Provide Staff Training – Equipping our team with trauma-informed care practices and crisis response skills.

• Expand Support Resources – Including hygiene kits, job-readiness tools, and basic emergency supplies for shelter guests.
