The Dallastown Area Historical Society's mission is to preserve our town’s rich history—but we need your help! Your financial support through Give Local York is critically needed.
Our museum isn’t just a collection of artifacts—it’s a piece of history itself. Once home to Dallastown’s borough office, firehouse, and even its jail, our beloved building has stood the test of time. But now, this history is at risk.
Our historic structure is in dire need of a complete roof replacement and updated HVAC systems. Without these necessary repairs, our ability to protect and share Dallastown’s story is in jeopardy. The cost? Projected to be greater than $75,000.
As a 100% volunteer-run museum, we rely on the generosity of our community. We proudly open our doors free of charge—but we can’t do this alone.

About Us
The Dallastown Area Historical Society is dedicated to documenting and preserving the history of the people, culture and economy of the Borough of Dallastown, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding area. We are a volunteer-run, non-profit organization whose collections and museum keep the history of the Dallastown area alive and accessible.
Our museum is located at 118 East Main Street. The museum is open on the first Sunday of each month from 1-4 PM. We are also open during the annual Christmas in Dallastown event. The Historical Society also hosts guest speakers and sponsors self-guided tours of historic buildings in Dallastown periodically.
