Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania

A nonprofit organization

For over 105 years Easterseals has been advocating for equality, inclusion and access for folks with disabilities. Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania provides programs and services for 47 counties. Here in Central Pennsylvania children and adults with disabilities are able to experience recreational activities and camps. Our weekly bowling programs have been a hit for Travis, Paul and Jacob for over a dozen years. They look forward to bowling together and even purchase their own matching shirts!

"Jacob bowled off and on with Easterseals when he was in school, but on a regular basis pretty much since he graduated in 2016. He loves it. He refers to the other participants as his friends, even though he doesn’t usually initiate interaction. It’s a way for him to work off some of his anxiety/ stress. These guys also have a comradery of sorts, they celebrate each other's birthdays  at bowling and other holidays. " - Laurie, mom

Our military families are equally as important at Easterseals Western and Central PA. Camps for children in military families; active, veteran and reserve are free to families and offered twice a year. Throughout the summer Easterseals works with the PA National Guard to provide many camp opportunities to those families.

"My kids love going to Project Beacon because they meet new friends whose parents are also in the military. These

friends are important because being military kids they understand each other and what they go through.” – Mary Ellen, parent
