Kain Memorial

A nonprofit organization

The Kain Memorial honors innocent victims who lost their lives due to alcohol and/or drug related crashes on York County highways. The Kain monument creates awareness of alcohol and drug related tragedies, in hope of avoiding future offenses. We provide a variety of support to victim families, friends and extended family members. Through our fund-raising efforts we also look for opportunities to raise awareness of the dangers associated with driving impaired and plan periodic updates and re-dedication ceremonies of the monument.

The Kain Memorial was initially made possible by the collaborative efforts of York County SADD Students Against Drunk Driving and was dedicated May 8, 1987. Currently there are 86 names of innocent victims who lost their lives as the result of an impaired driver. On May 18th, 2019 nine additional names were added. We hope it will serve as a prevention mechanism for all who view it and are impacted by it; it's a place for quiet reflection, a place where our loved ones will never be forgotten.

Remembrance... of innocent victims of impaired drivers!

Consolation... for the loved ones left behind!

Hope... that this monument will impact others to choose NOT to drive impaired!
