Mount Gretna School of Art

A nonprofit organization

Congratulations everyone!  We beat last year's total by $1500 and last year's donor count by 12.  Increasing our success each year helps!

We were able to fund a low-income scholarship to a deserving York College student from Shrewsbury, PA.

This event is concluded. However, chances are we're still working on funding our upcoming summer session. Check out our website to see how we're doing:

This event is for anyone, anywhere online, who wants to help make our program affordable to deserving students and keep MGSoA fiscally sound.

Every year since its founding in 2013, Mount Gretna School of Art (MGSoA) has granted scholarships to York College of PA students and York County residents to attend its one-of-a-kind residential art programs. More than $49,000 has been given since 2013 to help deserving York area students afford our top-tier opportunities.

This year, MGSoA also enjoyed contributing to the downtown York art scene in cooperation with Marketview Arts Center for an exhibit featuring its Four Pillars artist-in-residence fellows.

Help us fund another student's scholarship for our upcoming summer session. We have a deserving student enrolled who will be able to attend with a need-based scholarship award, which will be paid for with help from GLY 2025.

At Mount Gretna School of Art, we provide life-changing and transformative opportunities for artists to develop from the time they are students through their emergent careers.

  • Our 7-week summer Intensive School attracts college through graduate-level students with a special interest in painting outside in the landscape from direct perception while living in the area’s iconic summer cottages. Students live, eat, and breathe art all day, every day.
  • Four Pillars Artist Residency is a non-profit service of MGSoA that attracts early-career artists to develop a body of work, while MGSoA works to promote their art to new audiences with special exhibits, like what we conducted at Marketview Arts.

Give Local York (GLY) is a big part of our funding success each year. Anyone can help with a donation of any amount. It's as much about numbers of donors as it is numbers of dollars.
