Not One More - York Chapter

Not One More-York Chapter is a nonprofit organization committed to providing awareness, education and support to those affected by drug abuse and addiction. NOM-York, a chapter of a national organization headquartered in Simi Valley, California, was created by Vickie Glatfelter and Alyssa Rohrbaugh in 2015, after Vickie lost her son Bob to an overdose.

 

The organization offers a support group (C.A.R.E.S) for those whose loved one is struggling with or has passed away from addiction; a support group (Family Connections) for grandparents who are providing care for their grandchildren due to addiction issues; a kid's club for children and young adults impacted by addiction; community education and awareness events; help with finding resources for rehabilitation, recovery and counseling services; free Narcan kits to recovery houses and York County residents; personal care items for those with a substance use disorder entering recovery/sober houses; financial support for families unprepared to cover funeral expenses; and financial support to help those struggling with addiction maintain their recovery.

The mission statement for our national organization, based in California, is:Our main purpose is to educate our families about the hazards of heroin and other drug abuse, so we guide our children to take a path, which is free of devastation, incarceration and death; to help those who may be struggling with addiction, to lift them to a place of recovery and peace. This will only be accomplished by working together with our government leaders, the media, social networking sites, and utilizing all available resources.
