Ralphstock, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

$51,816 raised by 203 donors

Ralphstock, Inc. is a non-profit organization created in loving memory of Ralph W. Weyant, Jr., our son, brother, and friend who lost his life to malignant melanoma.  Ralph was a musician known for his lyrics, composition, vocals, and especially his talent on the bass.  Ralphstock, Inc. directs its fundraising to three initiatives:

  • Melanoma Research Foundation

  • York Cancer Center Patient Help Fund

  • Dallastown Scholarship Foundation

Each of these featured prominently in Ralph's life and were chosen as a way to give back to others,  raise awareness of the importance of furthering research to beat Melanoma, and encourage youth to pursue careers in the music arts.

Our goal is to raise awareness that Melanoma is usually, but not always, a cancer of the skin.

Effective prevention of melanoma is two-fold: First, reduce and limit UV (ultraviolet) exposure both from natural sunlight and artificial (e.g., tanning beds) sources; Second, identify and diagnose melanoma as early as possible.

Taking steps to prevent melanoma is the best first step in protecting yourself and your skin.

  1. Avoid the sun, if possible, especially between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  2. Seek shade whenever possible.

  3. Wear protective clothing, such as long sleeves, pants, wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses.

  4. Apply a broad spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen daily even in the winter, even on cloudy days;  wear sunscreen.
