High Impact & Long Runs
Ruins Hall is part of a regional revitalization of trail towns and is at the heart of the efforts in Glen Rock. Already a highly visited location, a site development plan directed at the next few years will transform this venue into a center of cultural activity. Plus we have cameras. And we will be getting more. So there’s a very good chance your art will still be there if you come back next year.
A commissioned doodle wall
Imagine a large coloring book-style drawing along the length of the back wall. Low enough for everyone to enjoy. Created during the jam and activated during monthly events and events in Ruins Hall. We can offer spray chalk for an interactive experience that naturally resets in the rain. Eventually, let’s get a vending machine for spray chalk cans.
A Community Art Series
And all of this will lead into a regular series of interactive events aimed at family-friendly experiences for all ages. Teach the basics of spray painting. Teach advanced techniques. Work on one large mural. Give the local community the tools to respect and execute art in Ruins Hall in an effort to build local ownership. These can be jump-offs from the Rivers of Steel programming, outside artists, or even our own developed programming for use year after year.
