The Belmont Theatre

The Belmont Theatre is committed to bringing Broadway-esque productions to the entire South-Central PA region. The theatre produces comedies, dramas, and musical productions that patrons of all ages are able to enjoy. As the theatre approaches its 92nd season of “Broadway at The Belmont” this September, they also offer an educational component. The Belmont Academy has a summer session where children six and older can learn from the Belmont Staff about what goes into preparing a production and performing a show at the end of the session.

This month will surely be a memorable one. The Belmont Theatre will host the final Barstools Production "The Errors Tour", supporting and performed by the York County Bar Association! At the end of the May, the first play written by Reggie Barton of New York will premiere in our Grumbacher Studio. The play has been heard in 3 staged readings before now, but has never before been presented on stage!

Season subscriber and veteran volunteer Lee Davis shares this sentiment, "As a 40 year volunteer at {The} Belmont Theatre, I have seen many young people greatly benefit from their experiences both backstage and before audiences in performances. Development of good character, pleasing personalities, ability to accurately follow directions, working as part of a team, and testing their strengths in a safe environment are among the many benefits of being associated with our community theatre. I strongly support the theatre's mission."

Funders are a big part of what makes The Belmont possible. The donations received are used to fund the works of art onstage. Theater-loving staff, volunteers, and the Board of Directors make the productions not only successful, but possible. The Belmont Theatre is a prominent form of entertainment in the South-Central PA region and looks forward to continuing give the gift of the performing arts for 92 years!

Mission

Community theaters were founded during The Great Depression. They filled the need for people to experience joy and creativity, and they still do today. The Belmont Theatre survived those difficult times, as well as others, and The Belmont will be here for you when this challenging time is over as well. We will meet these challenges now, but only with your generous support.
