The WELL Food Pantry, has it's pulse on the community of York PA. Since 1983, we have been caring for our neighbors in need. Located in the basement of Union Lutheran Church at Penn Street and Market, we serve many persons in the 17401 Zip Code which has the highest area of food insecurity in York County. However, we also provide support to families from throughout York County as needed.

This year is our 43rd year of providership, and brought great challenges with budget issues. We prevaled and now in 2026 we have a new Director and Board President to lead us on or mission. Inner city churches, where our organization was founded, continue to support us as they are able. We are grateful to those churches, as well as others in the suburban areas of York, who also provide essential support during this time of growing need. We now though, more than ever, require community donations and funding and indiviual donations to keep pace with needs of the York Community.

In addition to FOOD; diapers, formula, adult supplies, produce, personal care supplies, paper needs, pet supplies, prescription assistance, emergency care, bus passes, holiday boxes and gifts, children's bags and and drinks are all provided.

Our resources need replenished every day! Won't you help us provide the most basic of necessities for those folks in need in York?

Mission

We are a faith based food pantry offering food and emergency care to the the city and county residents of York, PA. In operation for over 42 years, we serve over 11,000 clients per year, including the elderly, veterans, those with disabilites, families, infants and children; simply those who are in need of food and support. Located in the City of York, at the rear of Union Lutheran Church, We offer hours to those in need, by appointment each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning, and the second and fifth Saturday mornings of the month. We seek to be "a place of hope in a time of need" for those who come to our doors.
