York Fresh Food Farms is on a mission to make sure everyone in our community has healthy food to eat. We grow vegetables and fruit right here on our farm in the City of York and sell it at low prices, year-round targeting families living in poverty and in food desert neighborhoods.
York Fresh Food Farms was founded in 2015 in York County PA to cultivate community health through agriculture, access and affordability. Vegetables and fruit are sustainably grown on York's only urban farm, traveling nearly zero food miles to reach our neighbors. Produce from York Fresh Food Farms is available at low prices 52 weeks a year through our Mobile Produce Markets, with 14 regularly scheduled stops around York City, and through FarmShares, a weekly selection of fresh produce when you want it, with optional eggs, bread, and meat. FarmShares can be ordered online and picked up at the Farm or delivered.
York Fresh Food Farms accepts SNAP/EBT, Food Bucks coupons, WellSpan Market Bucks (produce Rx), Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks (June – November only) as well as cash/credit/debit. We encourage customers to use SNAP, food assistance checks and vouchers. Customers paying with SNAP receive a $2 Food Buck coupon with every $2 spent with their SNAP/EBT card (up to $10 in Food Bucks). With Food Bucks, SNAP customers can save $10 on each subsequent Farm Share order or other purchase after making the first purchase at the full price. Combining SNAP with Food Bucks means getting a half-price FarmShare on every order after the first full-price order!
In 2023 York Fresh Food Farms began farming on the UPMC Memorial campus for their Farm to Hospital program which benefits their patients, employees and visitors. Surplus produce from the UPMC high tunnels are distributed through Mobile Produce Markets, FarmShares, and donated to local food pantries and homeless shelters.
As York Fresh Food Farms optimizes its 2025 Mobile Produce Market, FarmShares, pop-up markets and community outreach events, we are asking for your support so we can continue to reach more underserved, low-income and food insecure families in the City of York.

York Fresh Food Farms is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization that was created to reduce hunger in York County, Pennsylvania, by growing and distributing nutritious food for those in need. The project started in 2014 as an initiative of the York County Food Alliance to increase access to fresh local food. York Fresh Food Farms’ mission is to increase safe, healthy food choices to build a healthier community and, through sustainable, organic farming, to operate a community demonstration farm as a resource for the City of York.
