York County Safety Collab

A nonprofit organization

This collaborative builds trusting relationships between law enforcement and the people they serve for a safer place to live, work, and play. We learned that open dialog can change lives. Put simply, the York County Safety Collab is a collective effort to make us SAFER, TOGETHER. What we do through convening: We unite community-oriented groups and police to build trust, unity, and transparency. We're taking a leadership role in crime prevention by coordinating aligned action toward long-term violence reduction.

This year, the Safety Collab is raising money for the county's Threat Assessment and Mitigation Team. This multi-disciplinary group intercepts adults and youth who are on the pathway to violence by providing supports and interventions. THIS INITIATIVE IS NOT FULLY FUNDED! That’s why we need your help on Give Local. There are people in OUR COMMUNITY that are on the pathway to becoming attackers. They feel isolated, like they don’t belong - outcasts. When they don’t have a support system, they tend to find connection in various online hate groups that promote revenge.

In most cases, these individuals are teenagers - kids - that are in need of some kind of support services. Thankfully, teachers, healthcare workers and other bystanders have a place to refer these individuals to TAMs who then determine what support these individuals need to redirect them in a positive direction. Their system works. They keep at risk individuals from causing others harm through care, therapy, family support, and more.
Our goal for Give Local York is to raise $32,000 for TAMs so they can continue to provide necessary support to at risk youth. The funds will go toward behavior threat assessments ($4,000 a piece) as well as a fund to get these people help - therapy, pro-social activities, etc.

Please donate on May 1st and 2nd to help us reach this goal! Read more about TAMs HERE.

A part of these funds will cover the administrative costs to host this fundraiser including the supplies for the Block Party on Friday, May 2nd from 5-7pm at Logos Academy!
