About Us

Made by Nonprofits, for Nonprofits.

The White Rose Leadership Institute is here to support York County's nonprofit community.

In 2017, alumni of the York Federal Fellows Program sought to expand their impact by organizing a county-wide day of giving. This resulted in Give Local York, first held on May 4, 2018. In just 24 hours, the event raised $1.47 million for 211 nonprofits - a clear signal of the community’s need for the annual event. Following the success, the Fellows established the White Rose Leadership Institute, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to cultivating leaders and strengthening philanthropy in York County.

GLY365

York County's nonprofit directory

It's the same love and passion of Give Local York. That's the idea behind GLY365 — this powerful, year-round giving platform that helps local people discover local nonprofits aligned with their values.

Each nonprofit profile on GLY365 is updated annually with information about programs, leadership, impact, and more, making local giving easier and more informed.

Beyond connecting donors to causes, GLY365 supports the White Rose Leadership Institute’s efforts to strengthen our region’s nonprofit sector. The data collected helps us understand trends and work toward a sector that’s more equitable, inclusive, and reflective of our community.

Give Local York

24 Hours to Give Where You Live

Give Local York is York County’s annual celebration of generosity, connecting donors with local causes they care about most.

Since 2018, more than 13,000 donors have helped hundreds of nonprofits across York County raise over $30 million. With online donation minimums of $5 - even small donations, when given together, make a big impact.

Though the giving peaks in early May, the impact lasts all year. We use Give Local York to better understand and strengthen our local nonprofit sector. And it’s working: 74% of nonprofits say their visibility has increased, and 76% feel more connected to the sector, thanks in part to the partnerships, donor engagement, and community spirit Give Local York helps spark.
