Good Morning Friends and Family.   This week marks my one year anniversary with Affordable Housing Advocates (AHA).  Today is also Give Local York Day, York County's largest non profit fund raising day of the year.  As part of our efforts at Fundraising at AHA, we are having an employee competition to see which one of us can attract the most donors, so please if you can, donate something to support our cause and possibly help me win this competition.  Here is some details about our fundraiser this year:

2026 also marks the 55th anniversary of Affordable Housing Advocates (AHA). Founded in 1971 as the York Housing Development Corporation, the organization was formed by everyday people who believed that dignified, affordable housing is something everyone in our community deserves. That belief continues to guide our work today. AHA envisions a world where equitable housing is no longer a problem to be solved, but a universal need met with ease.

As waiting lists grow longer and the need for affordable homes becomes greater, our 2026 Give Local York campaign focuses on the rehabilitation of 305 and 313 E King Street. These two former office buildings are being restored into four affordable rental homes, strengthening a block where AHA already provides housing.
