York Chess Club is looking for 2,000 neighbors to join the Pawn Storm by giving just $10 each to raise $20,000 for youth chess programs across York County.
Chess for Everyone
Chess brings people together. It is played in every corner of the world and transcends age, language, and background. By supporting York Chess Club, you are not just paying for vinyl boards and plastic pieces, you are helping young people in York connect to a growing network of players across the state, the nation, and the world.
The Impact
Your contributions will help us:
Seed youth chess clubs and teams across York County with $500 mini-grants. These will purchase chess sets, chess clocks, USCF memberships, and tournament entries. Available for public and private schools, homeschool groups, and other youth-serving organizations.
Purchase essential game equipment, including chess sets, clocks, and trophies for tournaments. This allows us to keep our meetings free and open to all, especially beginners who may not have their own equipment. It also enables us to maintain low entry fees and offer attractive prizes for our tournaments.
-
Cover necessary operating expenses such as liability insurance, affiliate fees, tournament software, and domain registration.
Make Your Move
Pawns are the smallest and least valuable pieces on the chess board, but they can move in coordination to create a powerful attack called a Pawn Storm. Your $10 contribution is key to building that kind of momentum. Donate $10 today and ask your friends to donate, too. Together, we'll help grow the next generation of chess players in York County!
