Become a Friend to Friends & Neighbors

Every day, my team and I meet people exactly where they are, literally and figuratively. We meet individuals and families sleeping in cars, tents, abandoned buildings, on couches, or outside. We meet veterans, seniors, parents, and young adults, many who grew up right here in our community. Street outreach is often the first point of contact between someone in crisis and the systems meant to help. When trust has been broken, when doors have been closed too many times, when hope feels out of reach, our job is to show up anyway. Consistently. Compassionately. Without judgment. We don’t just hand out supplies and walk away. We build relationships. We listen, really listen. We learn names, stories, histories. We advocate when voices go unheard. We help navigate systems that can feel impossible to untangle. We connect people to shelter, healthcare, behavioral health services, transportation, P.O. boxes, employment resources, and housing. We walk alongside people through some of the hardest moments of their lives. We celebrate every step forward, no matter how small it may seem. And sometimes, in a world that has felt anything but steady, we are the only consistent support they have. This work isn’t just about meeting needs, it’s about restoring dignity, rebuilding trust, and reminding people that they are not invisible.
